About Us

Our weekly publications and online services are geared to provide the essential facts relating to the intriguing and highly profitable world of auctions and asset disposals.

We have two separate services, each available online via this website with the option of a weekly publication sent out by post:

  • "Auction News" : one of the auction industry's most respected publications covering asset disposal sales by Auction, Tender and Private Treaty. Predominently featuring sales in the UK, but increasingly overseas as well due to the rapid expansion in global communications and online bidding.
  • "Insolvency Report" : Listing details of all insolvent company notices (excluding dormant and non-trading companies), this publication covers liquidations, receiverships, administrations and wind-ups in England, Scotland and Wales

For over 50 years, we have evolved with the changing market dynamics and our continued success stems from the ability to embrace new concepts in information technology and apply them to our business for the benefit of our customers.

The rapid expansion of the internet has enabled us to open up our service to a global audience and steadily increase our website traffic to 35,429* visits per month. (* Average Jan - March 2010)

Through the expertise and commitment of a dedicated and knowledgeable team of staff, we are determined to maintain our position as market leaders in this specialised field. We will continue to listen to and act upon customer feedback in order to provide a service second to none.

With extensive national coverage of disposal sales together with details of all UK company insolvencies, the Auction News website is a one stop shop for people who require this valuable information.

50 Years of Auction News Services - a brief history

  • 1958
"Auction Guide and Auction News Services" was originally set-up to provide a service for those people who were interested in locating and purchasing industrial and commercial assets, but didn't have the resources or the time to thoroughly research where and when these lucrative sales were taking place. Now there is a single central source for this valuable information.
  • 1984
Following a short illness, the sad death of the original proprietor resulted in a change of ownership and the company name being abbreviated to "Auction News Services". During the late 80's and early 90's other companies tried to imitate the service, but these companies eventually disappeared, whilst Auction News grew from strength to strength.
  • 1993
Auction News launches "Insolvency Report" - the new sister publication to "Auction News".
  • 1998
Auction News launches its first website at www.auctionnews.co.uk
  • 2001

  • 2006

  • 2007
November sees the website re-launched, totally redesigned for more user friendliness and increased performance.

  • 2008
